Grade 6/7: Read the following articles and then write a response in your journal (or if you do not have your journal just use a sheet of paper). Respond to the articles you read this week – did you learn anything new or interesting; how do you feel about what you read; include some of your thoughts on Remembrance Day. You can work on this on Monday, also.

Grade 4 Math: Check questions 4,5,6 & 7. 4. 3685 + 2974 + 1156 = 7815
5. Any numbers that add to 7208. For example, 3145 + 4063
6. $2580
7. There is more than one answer. For example, 1836. The ones digit can be 6,7,8, or 9. The tens can be 2,3,4,5,6,7,8, or 9. The hundreds digit can be 7,8 or 9. The thousands digit cab be 1 or 2.
Today start the review questions on page 76. Do numbers 7, 8(a) & (c) and 9. Make sure you just estimate for numbers 7 and 9. Use mental math strategies for number 8. You can look back at Lesson 5 if you forget what these were.

Grade 4 Math: Check numbers 6 to 8 page 72: 6. 2021 - 2215 = 806 7. a) 9876 - 1234 = 8642
b) 5123 - 4987 = 139 c) I made the biggest number possible and smallest number possible for (a). For (b) I made two numbers as close to 5000 as I could get - one a little more one a little less than 5000.
8. S = 1 H = 0 Z = 9
Do questions 1 to 3 on pages 74 and 75. Remember "sum" is the answer you get when you add, and "difference" means you subtract. Some clue words that can help you decide are "altogether" means add, and "how much more than" means you should subtract.
