The
Miramichi Kinsmen and School District 16 are pleased to accept film
entries for the first annual Kin Film Festival. All School District 16
students are invited to participate. Films can be submitted in one of
two categories: Open and The Kinsmen Category. The top 10 films in each
category will be screened on May 7th, 2011 at Miramichi Empire Studio
5. Cash prizes of $500, $250 and $100 will be awarded for the winners
in each category.

Congratulations to Travis Stewart, Hannah Manderville-Comeau and Mackenzie Creamer on their second place finishes in each of their grade levels at the competition on Wednesday at MVHS! A job well done!
The students were in awe and amazement today when Mad Science came to visit this afternoon. Your child has the opportunity to take part in the hands on learning program which will occur at Millerton starting on Monday. For more info check out the website at www.madscience.org. On Saturday, November 27, we had our first special activity hosted by The After School Program. Children could join us for a late night movie and popcorn. I was happy to see so many children attending the screening of Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. We all had a great time and can't wait to do it again! Benjamin of grade 5 was the lucky one who won the DVD at the end of the night.
Mark your calendar because our next movie day will be on Sunday, December 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. This time , we will get to watch DESPICABLE ME! I wonder who will win the movie this time!

This is Sophie from The After School Program. We found a great way to spend the month of November with our new dinosaur project. All month long, we will learn interesting facts about them, dig for fossils, hatch our own eggs and more.
Please follow the link below and vote for our playground. This is sort of a "playground Idol" competition where the most votes wins the money. The voting period begins today and last for 10 days. You can only vote once per day per email address (thankfully most of us have more than one!!) so please vote as many times as you are allowed!
