Writing: This week I would like you to write a shape poem and an acrostic poem. A shape poem is a poem shaped like the thing it describes. To begin choose a topic then brainstorm all the words that come to mind about your topic. Think of the way you'd like to present your poem, how will it be shaped. Be sure to check out the links above for examples and ideas.
An acrostic poem is a poem in which each line starts with the word or phrase that is the topic of your poem. Here is a useful link which will walk you through the process -
