 PART 1: Reading! (30 minutes a day)

1. Breakfast time reading: “You Can Even Read a Cereal Box”

      - I have attached a PDF file with various activities

2. “Read to Self”: Choose a favorite book, find a comfy spot and enjoy!

Remember, there are 3 ways to read a book:

  • Read the words
  • Look at the pictures and make up your own story
  • Retell the story from memory

3. “Read to Someone”: Collect your favorite books and read to your family. You can even pretend you are the teacher by setting up your favorite toys or stuffed animals and read to them.

4. “Listening to Stories”: You can have a family member read to you, or you can find a variety of stories online.

     Remember:

  • Always begin with a capital letter
  • Leave spaces between words
  • End with punctuation- it never takes a vacation!

         -  If you want to color your picture go right ahead! Maybe your family would like to color too!

2. “Sticker Play”: If you have any stickers at home, use them to create a picture and write about it!
