I just wanted to say a BIG Thank You to both students and staff at Millerton for making this such a wonderful and enjoyable year. It’s been my pleasure to be a part of The Millerton family. I would like to especially send a fond farewell and good luck to my Grade 8 Homeroom. I wish you all the best of luck on your journey to High School, you all have a very special place in my heart. Thank You! Ms. Duffy Grade 8 Homeroom Name Meaning: Lauren This name gives you an optimistic outlook on life, you are self-expressive, generous, clever, and ambitious. Wesly You have a desire for association with people, you enjoy unexpected opportunities and helping people on the spur of the moment. Davey Expression comes naturally to you and you are rarely at a loss for words, you sincerely like people and do not often experience loneliness. David You have a great deal of patience and independence, you resist change and pay attention to detail. Brianna Desire to be around people, you have a generous and creative personality. Hannah Creates a friendly, sociable, charming nature. You find it easy to  be around other people. Josh Creates a quick, clever mind capable of grasping and assimilating new ideas. Jacob You are inclined to be quiet, reserved, patient, and conservative.

Grade 8 Coin drive Mary Poppins: the entire school will be attending Mary Poppins at James M Hill tomorrow. The bus will be departing the school at 8:30 sharp and all students attending are asked to be on time. All teaching staff will be in attendance, so students will not be permitted to remain at school. Any students not present will be marked absent. No food or drink is permitted during the play. 6/7 LA Read and log (logs will be collected this week and students will not be given notice) Letter due Thursday Finish biography research Be prepared to present book talk Thursday 7/8 PIF 5 things that would happen in a world without water

Grade 8 Homeroom No school Friday and Monday (enjoy) Book fair ends tomorrow  6/7 LA Read and log (Log due Thursday – 5 logs) Journal # 8 due Thursday Book talk summary due Thursday (draft) Article of the week Due Thursday Students have had since Tuesday March 24 to complete these assignments. They have a 40 minute independent study period almost every day and have also had sufficient class time to work on these assignments. Students have been reminded about these assignments each day in class.
